Aloha Fashion & Lei Making with Hui Pua Lei

Join us on Friday, September 5, for a special aloha fashion & lei-making experience rooted in culture, connection, and community. This hands-on workshop featuring UH faculty, alumni, and local experts will guide you through the art of aloha fashion, lei-making, plant propagation, and more!
Celebrate the art of aloha fashion & lei
- Bring up to 4 of your favorite Made in Hawai`i lole, aloha fashion, aloha shirts, etc. and the experts from PuaCulture will help you date, detail textile content, and provide ideas to recycle, refresh, and preserve these timeless treasures.
- Lei-making workshop with UH Alumni Aunty Sylvia & Mike Kop of PuaCulture and the Lei Poina`ole Project (while supplies last).
- Learn how to grow & propagate lei plants with Dr. Alberto Ricordi of the UH Mānoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR). 10am – 1pm.
Whether you’re new to aloha fashion, lei-making or continuing a beloved practice, we welcome you to gather, create, and celebrate with us.
When: September 5 • 9am – 2pm (Fashion & Lei), 10am – 1pm (Plant Propagation)
Where: McCully Branch (2019 S King St.)
Feel free to stop by whenever you get the chance! Sylvia, Mike, and the team will be around to talk story, answer questions, and share their deep knowledge and love for lei and native plants.
