Q: When does a payee receive my money?

A: The Payee receives the payment on the due date that you setup.
Note: It may take the payee a little longer to credit the payment to your account.

Q: How is my payment sent to the payee

A: When using the bill payment service, e.Pay Services determines if the payment will be made electronically or by check, based on whether the payee accepts electronic payments. For example, some payees, such as individuals, cannot receive electronic payments, so a check is printed and sent to the payee. Whether a payment is made electronically or by check, the payment is processed to reach the payee on time.

Q: When is the money for the payment drawn from my checking account?

A: For bill payments that are sent electronically or by check from our e.Pay PROCESSORS account, the funds for the payment clear your account on the scheduled payment date. For bill payments that are paid by check from YOUR account, the funds clear your account when the payee deposits or cashes the check. Keep in mind that you should always have funds available to cover the payment on the scheduled payment date.

Q: What is the earliest payment date I can schedule for a bill payment?

A: The earliest payment date you may schedule a bill payment will differ with each merchant. In some cases you will be able to schedule and make a payment in one or two business days. Others may take three or four business days. In either case e.Pay will let you know when the earliest payment may be made. Just click on the calender next to "Pay Date" text box see when the earliest payment can be made. The earliest "Pay Date" will be highlighted in blue.

We recommend that you schedule your payments one to two business days in advance of your due date so that when the payment is made your merchant will have time to process your payment. Some merchants may take one day to process your payment.
